School Library Journal
Ducklings Feather and Flap, along with their unlikely brother Spike (a big green dinosaur), are searching for the perfect pumpkin. Feather and Flap find pumpkins but Spike’s notions of what to do with them (jumping, bowling, and juggling) result in squashed pumpkins. Finally, the ducklings suggest decorating the pumpkins, but Spike’s remorse at his ungainly ways gives Mama Duck an idea for the ruined ones—pumpkin pie!—and all ends well.
